Dear Students,
Wow! I can't believe that February is already here. There is only ten more days until The Lightning Thief hits the theaters. I won't go on the opening weekend though. I think I am going to go on March 5th. I think that gives it a couple of weeks to settle down a bit and maybe the theater won't be so crowded. I'll let you know what time I am thinking about going so you can go at the same time if you would like. I will probably go to the earliest show so it will be a little cheaper.
I am very disappointed that they have changed the cover of the book to the movie poster. It makes me feel like the cover with the drawing wasn't important anymore now that there is a movie for the book. Did you know that the cover on books we read wasn't the first cover either? I don't really like the very first cover very much. It doesn't have the same feeling as the one that we are used to. I like that cover because it gives you so many hints about the story, but you don't really realize that until you are several chapters into the book. Then you look at the cover and think "OH!" I really liked that about it. I also like that Percy had on the orange shirt and held Riptide and the Minotaur horn. On the new cover he is holding the Master Bolt, and I don't like that at all. I mean, he didn't even realize he had the bolt for the longest time. I think that the color is wrong, too. Poseidon's color is green in the book, not blue. Blue is Zeus's color. Well, now you know all about how disappointed I am in the new cover and why. What do you think?

Yea, I can't wait to see the movie, I want to see it as soon as possible. I'm really disappointed that the book cover changed too! I really liked the drawing. I hate it when they put picture from the movie on the books, are the drawings not good enoughfor them? I love looking at the author's drawings.
ReplyDeleteI really don't like the cover either,did like when he was holding Riptide and the Minotaur's horn too, I thought it was very cool. But also I thought that it was not fair either that they changed the way the characters looked too. They should fallow the books outline. But just because that they changed a couple of things in it still could be very good though. I can't wait to see it, my mom thought that it looks good too, so I might see it with her. My brother doesn't want to see it and I asked him why and he said that he wasn't intrested in it. I can't wait to see it!!!!!!!!!

I can't wait until it comes out! I have always wonhdered if there was a movie. My mom said we could see it together as soon as came out. I'm so exited to see it, I've seen comercials about it and it sounds so cool! I'm am so glad it is coming out. I am about to jump up and down because I wqaqnt to see it so bad!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI know what you are saying the front cover is all messed up. But I can't wait to see the movie I am probaly going the opening day. It's going to be so cool! I wonder what Grover is going to look like?
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the movie.I like the cover for the movie more.I still don't see how you don't like it.But I agree with Bella I don't see why they changed the way the people in the movie look.I didn't like the cover of the book.

i don't like the cover either because in the other one was made to look like Percy was walking on swater and holding his things but in this cover it looks like he is a crazy teen who is swiming in the ocean and stabing the waves with a shiny knife.Also on the preveiw when he met madusa instead of using the silver ball he used a video phone.I think that the moveie will be awsome but the creators got most of the little details wrong(Annabeths for example)-ZARYA
ReplyDeleteI am in the middle of a book called Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Demigod Files. I am in the middle of it but it is pretty good so far. It is basically just a couple of stories about Percy and his friends and all of their crazy adventures but it also has other things like interviews with the characters and stuff like that it is pretty cool!
