Hello again Dear Students,
I am so proud of the work you have been doing. I am amazed at how well some of your articles for our magazines are shaping up. Tomorrow I will begin working with two or three editors to create the covers. I am hoping that we can begin to finish up our exploration of area and perimeter so that we can start designing our pavillions. I would like to have them up to display along with the magazines so everyone can see how much you have learned.
As you know, it is that time of year where things begin to turn towards EOG. Soon we will be doing more skill based activities in reading and practicing to get ready for the big day. Fifth grade, that means we will soon be making room for science review to get you ready for the test. I know that all of you have what it takes to really impress those people in offices who look at scores and we are going to show them how smart you are!
Have you noticed that the days are getting longer? I sure have. And it makes me excited. Of course, with Spring comes rain, and we have been getting a lot of it. I think it is a little annoying, because then we can't get outside, but it is also cool when you think about it. By it, I mean the water cycle. Just think, the water that is falling in Wilmington today could have been in a river on the other side of the country not too long ago. I think that is pretty nifty.
Fifth graders, I can't wait to see your letters. Don't forget they are due soon!
Your teacher,
Ms. C
