Who Killed Tom?
Fourth and Fifth grade students have been graphing heart rates of several suspects and using critical thinking skills to determine who killed Tom the artist in a mini mystery. Students had a video to watch to collect the evidence, as well as police reports to consult to determine who the culprit was. Students had to consider what would cause the heart rate of the suspects to raise and lower and support their conclusion with evidence. So tell me, detectives. Who do YOU think murdered poor Tom?

I think it is Jackie because she had a hat pin. She also was going to a wedding she had to go outside to get there. And the cops interviewed her the most. She had the highest haert rate when Tom died.

I think John killed Tom. Because his heart rate may have been low but why were his shoes muddy? When he was tring to fix his tie and said "There are som many ways to do it!" maybe he was talking about how many ways there is to kill tom.

I think it was John because during the movie he started to clean mud or dirt of his shoes which means he was outside reasontly which I interprited that he did it. Even though his heart rate was one of the lowest... why did he have mud on his shoes... he couldn't go anywhere with mud on his shoes. maybe when he was tying his tie that morning when he said that there was so many ways to do it he ment not tying his tie but how he could murder Tom because there are so many ways he could murder someone but not much more than one way to tie a tie.
